Live Projects

In the current scenario, when there is a visible gap in demand and supply of qualified professionals in the industry, projects can act as adhesives to bridge the gap. The Department of Mechanical Engineering always thrives to overcome this gap by developing research and live projects, which provide hands-on experience to our students. The projects are developed in a structured format to ensure student learning. They are implemented under the guidance of mentors and financial assistance is provided to the students whenever required. The undertaken projects are either intra-disciplinary or interdisciplinary as per the need of the hour. It is essential for students to work in groups while designing projects so as to learn team effort which is a mandatory practice in the industry. The project development will enhance job opportunities for students and provide a clear insight of working in the industry. It helps students to groom their personality and build leadership qualities. It also encourages students to gain confidence and strengthen their decision-making capabilities.

Type of Project : Research Project

Area : Electro Chemical Processes

Mentor : Dr. Manpreet Singh, Assistant Professor, ME

Students : Arshdeep Singh, Amanpreet Singh, Pankaj Kumar, Rahul

Project Brief : The modern trend towards tininess has provided an innovative push towards the creation of unconventional minute holes drilling practices. Electro stream drilling (ESD) is one such emerging process. It finds its various industrial applications such as medical, automobile, aerospace and micro fabrication which further finds its use in electronic and computer components. Keeping these applications in mind, an electro stream drilling set-up has been designed and fabricated.

Type of Project : Live Project

Area : Air Pollution, Bicycles

Mentor : Dr. Manpreet Singh, Assistant Professor, ME

Students : Jaspreet Singh, Navdeep Singh, Satwant Singh, Kuldeep Singh

Project Brief : Bicycles are often cited as the most efficient modes of transportation in the world. The air-purifier bike currently exists only in concept. The aim of this innovative bicycle is inhales polluted air, cleans it, and gives clean air to the cyclist and environment. It is intended to become a medium for smog free cities, generating clean air to celebrate the bicycle and making thousands of them to create an impact on the larger urban scale.

Type of Project : Live Project

Area : Electric Vehicles

Mentor : Dr. Manpreet Singh, Assistant Professor, ME

Students : Jashandeep Singh, Kunal Singla, Sachin Kumar, Pramjeet Kumar, Ram Singh

Project Brief : Electric car have often been suggested as a helpful solution to reduce oil consumption and air pollutant emissions. The aim of this electric car project is reduces the emissions that contribute to climate change and smog, improving public health and reducing ecological damage. This Electric car has fewer moving parts than a conventional petrol/diesel car. Servicing is relatively easy, less frequent and overall cheaper than a petrol/diesel vehicle.

Type of Project : Live Project

Area : Electric Vehicle

Mentor : Dr. Manpreet Singh, Assistant Professor, ME

Students : Navdeep Singh, Shubam Kumar, Chand Parkash, Karan Beri

Project Brief : Project Description: The aim of this project is to design and develop a prototype of an electric cycle that can be used for daily commuting purposes. The electric cycle should be designed to have a maximum speed of 25 km/hour, a range of at least 50 km, and be able to carry a load of up to 120 kg. The electric cycle should also be easy to use and maintain, and affordable for the target market.
