Network of Electronics and Communication Engineering Students(NECcESs)

The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering , Baba Farid College of Engineering and Technology inaugurated the “Network of Electronics and Communication Engineering Students”, NECcESs ( a student body) on 18th Sept 2009 along with celebration of “ National Engineers Day and International day for the preservation of Ozone layer” conforming with the theme for this year’s national engineers day which is actually dedicated to “Engineering Solutions to Combat Climatic Changes” The Chief guest for the Day was Prof Basudeo Prasad, Head of the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, Indo-Global college of engineering, Abhipur. The program was Co sponsored by Punjab State Council for Science and Technology.

Prof Basudeo Prasad an unique combination of an Electronics Engineer and Environmentalist, and who has worked in Defence Research and Development Organization and Central Scientific Instruments Organization ,Chandigarh and whose major work of research has been on Instruments related to measurement of ozone and its effects enlightened the students on an indigenous ozone monitoring equipment made using micro controllers. He encouraged the students to come forward in to the research field and develop technologies which are user friendly ,economical and eco friendly. The chief patron of the association, S Gurmeet Singh Dhaliwal,Chairman BFCET congratulated the department on their initiative and wished them all success in their future endeavors. In his key note address, Dr Jasbir S Hundal Director –Principal, BFCET and patron NECcESs stressed that NECcESs was formulated to give the students an opportunity to express their managerial skills, and stressed on how students can be involved in more and more extra –curricular academic activities to make them more confident in facing the current competitions. The students Ms Amandeep Kaur of B Tech (ECE)3rd Sem gave a presentation on Ozone Layer and its preservation while Ms Parul of B Tech (ECE)3rd Sem gave a presentation on National Engineers day and the reasons for its celebration
