Association of Student for Scientific Education & Rational Thinking(ASSERT)

ASSERT is a kind of student’s professional body, which has been organized by the Deptt. of Applied Sciences, BFCET. It has come into existence on 17th Sept, 2009, under the supervision of Prof. B.S. Brar (HOD of Applied Sciences) and Mr. Atul Singla (Lect Mathematics) BFCET, Bathinda. The fundamental aim of this professional body is the promotion of sciences, which form the basis of Engineering and Technology, and the cultivation of scientific and rational thinking.

Along with this, this body also laid down the following basic tasks:

1. To enhance the basic points of Sciences.
2. To Project the contribution of Scientists, who developed the basis of Engineering.
3. To spread and cultivate rational and scientific thinking among students and fight against superstitions

This body has organized its inauguration function on 15th Oct, 2009 in which various activities have been performed (like Presentation, quiz contest and cultural activites). The students participated in these activities with full zeal and vigour. This has been really a good step for the awareness and the mental development of the students. The ASSERT is planning further activities.
