BFGI starts LIVE GREEN-Step Towards Better Living campaign to save the natural resources

The prime motive of BFGI as an Educational Group is to promote quality education along with over all development of the students.  As a tradition, every year is dedicated to some social and noble cause. Year 2011 was dedicated to the Youth Development and treading the same path, Year 2012 has been dedicated to promote the concept of “LIVE GREEN”. Every day we come across the concept of “GREEN” in news, politics, fashion and even technology. It is very easy to get overwhelmed but people are reluctant to take positive steps to move forward.

So, sensing its responsibility BFGI has started a movement LIVE GREEN:  step towards better living. By LIVE GREEN – BFGI not only focuses on promoting greenery and increasing plantation but definition of Green goes beyond the limited parameters also. It aims at achieving the purpose - THINK GREEN, ACT GREEN, EAT GREEN, SHOP GREEN & BUILD GREEN. It refers to adopting the nature friendly practices that focus on conservation efforts, using natural resources wisely and in general making our actions eco- friendly.

A Press Conference was organized by BFGI on December 4, 2012 at Sun city Classic, Bathinda, where, Mr. Gurmeet Singh Dhaliwal, Managing Director, BFGI threw the light on ‘LIVE GREEN’ concept. He informed that BFGI has formed an Awareness Campaigning team of dedicated members working towards the promotion of this concept. Campaigning will be done in different schools, colleges and neighboring areas. To aware the society about the optimum use of non-renewable resources BFGI team will visit and associate with Colleges, NGO’s, Schools, Clubs, Private, Government, and Semi Government organizations, so that we can work unitedly towards making the world greener. Literature related to the above mentioned cause will be distributed to the different sections of society.

To encounter the problem of the deforestration BFGI will promote the Tree Plantation under this campaign. BFGI have planned to conduct Conferences, Workshops and Seminars, where eminent Environmentalists of national and international fame will be invited. The various competitive activities like Painting, Photography, Caption Contest, Slogan writing, Poetry, Essay Writing etc will also focus on LIVE GREEN theme and exhibitions of these selected items will be held in order to promote concept on a mass level. BFGI will be organizing a GREEN TECH FEST on 15 and 16 February, 2012. To Promote Organic Farming students and people of entire region will be made aware of benefits of Organic Farming with the help of DEMO FIELDS. To Promote Green Buildings We will construct buildings in such a manner so that electricity, sunlight and other natural resources can be used in optimum manner. He added that we should follow the Holy Gurbani Salok, "Pavan guru paani pitaa, maataa dharat mahat" in our daily life to respect our nature.

Dr. Sardool Singh Grewal, Vice- President Mr. Gurmeet Singh, Director Public Relations, , Mr. Sukdev Singh Pakka, Director, Mr. Hem Raj Sharma, Director, Principals of all Colleges and Head of the different departments were also present on the occasion.
